Founded in 2001, Metropolitan School of the Arts is a uniquely innovative arts education establishment located just south of Washington DC, on a mission to launch students who change the world, by reaching their fullest potential as artists, innovators and global citizens.

-We achieve excellence in arts and academic education through a unique approach to teaching and learning. Our methodology encourages a nurturing, supportive and inspiring culture where students earn the confidence to propel themselves toward reaching their highest potential. We are a place of fearlessness. A place where students are free to take risks, take chances and learn from their experiences doing so.

-We believe that there are no mistakes. Only creations.

-We believe that arts education is an entry point to life long innovation.

-We believe that the arts are an integral part of human existence; all human beings are wildly creative.

-We strive to be a world-class center for cultivating excellence in the arts by making arts accessible to everyone and by educating our community on the great significance of art as an essential source of insight into identity and human life.

-We strive to be a place where people love to learn, perform and experience the joy of the arts, not as buzzwords, but as real, everyday opportunity. We envision a future where the arts inspire our community to make positive change in our world.
